Modulation of friction coefficient

Customized processes
Plasmapps Ltd has successfully developed plasma processes able to adjust friction coefficient of rubber, polymers, plastics and metals with high accuracy. With Plasmapps it becomes possible to finely tune the value of the friction coefficient to the desirable value by means of solutions tailored on specific surfaces and materials. The process is PWIS-free recommended for industrial field such us automotive, aeronautical, biomedical and many other applications in which the cleanliness of the items is crucial.
It's the right choice for reducing the friction coefficient of rubber and plastics.
This plasmochemical process reduces the surface tension of the material without changing its bulk properties. This treatment makes easier the handling of rubber items (o-ring, gaskets, valves, etc.) subject to sticking in assembling lines.

It find its industrial application in the industry of:

  • Gaskets
  • O-rings
  • Valves
Materials Rubber such as NBR, HNBR, EPDM, Fluorosilicone, silicone, FKM, etc
Plastics such as POM, PP, PE, HDPE, etc
Surface tension ≤20 Dyne/cm at 20°C
Process temperature 25-70 °C
Industrial Fields Gaskets, O-rings, Valves, Closing systems (Furniture and Automotive)
The process is a coating
